Obituary

Ernest D. Brita passed away on August 12, 2020 due to pancreatic cancer. He was 76 years old. He was born in Millburn, NJ in 1943, where he lived with his father Enrico, mother Evelyn and his brother James. He attended The College of the Holy Cross and graduated in 1965. He then went to Columbia University and received his MBA in 1967.

Ernest married Susan M. Finn in 1968 and is survived by her and their three sons – Anthony, Steven and Paul. He worked for KPMG as a partner in the accounting and auditing practice out of their Washington, D.C. office. Ernest became a grandfather for the first time in 2001 and went on to have six grandchildren. Abigail Brita, Theodore Brita, Jack Brita, Zoë Brita, Mia Brita and Charles Brita.

Ernest loved to golf, bet on horses at the racetrack and root for the New York Giants. He was a season ticket holder for over 45 years and going to games with his sons and then grandkids was a cherished tradition. He also loved to attend his grandchildren’s various sporting events and school activities. His kindness and generosity to everyone he came across will be his lasting legacy. May his soul rest in peace.
