Fred Lambert

August 16, 2018

Before I go off to choir practice for the Christmas concert coming up, I wanted to send you all some Warm Holiday Greetings as well as the updates I promised about our beloved Fred.  So many of you wrote in with tributes and stories.  His family (Barbara and daughter, Lisa & son, Mark) have just created a Facebook Group, and here’s the link:  “Remembering Fred W. Lambert”  If you click on the link and have a FB profile, just request to join the group.  Share memories and photos of him.  Those of you, like me, who are not on Facebook, may have someone close to you who is.  This week Fred’s obituary will be posted on Legacy.com but the family would rather have people write in the FB page because Legacy.com postings go away after a year.

The memorial for Fred will be on Saturday, March 23, in Half Moon Bay, CA. I am definitely planning to go as are at least a few others from our class.  Unless you tell me otherwise, I will be sharing all your email and/or home addresses with Barbara via an updated copy of our 50th Reunion booklet – updated meaning I’ve crossed out the old email or address and written in a new one.  So, if you’d like to be included but think I might not have your updated info, please provide it.  Thank you!

The Celebration of Life for Fred Lambert held in Half Moon Bay in March was such a fine tribute to him!  It was so good to be with his family and meet his friends from U. of Michigan, law school, his professional career, CA friends, and of course, hearing all their stories.  The  photos streaming in the background seemed to keep him with us.  I was especially grateful to share this heartwarming experience with our MHS contingent: Marianne Sprague Paul, Wayne Mascia & his wife Sharon, Bob Coutts, Billy Beck and his sister Susan.

Thank you for all your notes!  Even if I don’t get to respond to them personally, know that I reread them and cherish each of you!  In two years we’ll be having our 60th reunion!

Warmest regards,

Mari Wilderotter McDevitt

MHS ’61
